Can my son play in both Tosa Baseball and for the Jr. Trojans?

No. Starting with the 2013 season all of our teams will compete in the WSYBL. Between WSYBL play and tournaments most of our teams will play a 30 to 40 game schedule making play in Tosa Baseball or NCLL very difficult. Back to top.

How are rosters determined?

The Jr. Trojans Baseball Club is a SELECT program. Players must tryout for a team. Coaches will conduct player tryouts in the fall for the following season. Players will be rated on speed, agility, defensive skills, hitting, and attitude. The coaches, with oversight from the TTBC Board of Directors, will select the teams. Back to top.

Player fees will be determined on a year to year basis depending upon equipment needs, uniforms, tournament entry fees and practice facility needs. Contact your age group coach for fees and more information. Back to top.

What is the time commitment?

We need 100% commitment to the tourney and game schedule and at least 85% to practices. Practices may begin as early as January indoors and continue several days a week through the end of the season in July. The final schedule will be determined based on coaches’ needs and field availability. Back to top.

What position(s) will my son play and how much will he play?

Not everyone can play shortstop, pitcher, or bat leadoff. Players and parents need to understand that they may not be playing in their regular positions from the league experience. Coaches will do their best to weigh the best options at each position and for each pitching rotation. Don’t be discouraged because you are not pitching, catching or playing shortstop on the Jr. Trojans Baseball Club team! All positions are very important in baseball at this level.

Tournaments usually do not have rules related to playing time for all players on a roster. However, the coaches will do everything possible to get playing time for all players on the roster. Players and parents should recognize that this does not mean EQUAL playing time. It is up to the respective coaches as to who should be in the lineup to assure the team’s competitiveness in game situations. Back to top.
